Mr. Possible

And the impossible becomes possible, my friends.

John 6:9 Jesus Feeds Five Thousand

“Then Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother spoke up. ‘There’s a young boy here with five barley loaves and two fish. But what good is that with this huge crowd?’”

So we’ve collectively raised $2250 for this mission’s trip. WOOOHOOO! That leaves $450 to go to reach the TRIP GOAL of $2700.

Here’s the thing: I know we can raise this money because God is calling me to go on this trip. Jesus can take any amount and make the impossible possible.

This photo is from a memorial from World War 2 located adjacent to the place I work in honor of those who served in the Philippines. Many died in opposition to oppression and in hope of freedom. There are indications like this all over that remind us of what we’re supposed to do.

Getting back to the Word, Andrew (head nod to the name) forgot that the SON OF MAN, PRINCE OF PEACE stood beside him when looking to feed the five thousand: “But what good is that with this huge crowd?”

Jesus proceeded to take the food – everything they had – and multiplied it thousands of times to fulfill a need.

Please help fulfill a need friends and family. If it’s $2 or 2 cents, your gift will be multiplied by God’s good grace.

Be the young boy with five barley loaves and two fish today. Help make the impossible, possible.

Andy Gone Whack??

Happy February! Thanks for checking back on this blog even though some time has passed without updates :)

Thanks to all have who have prayed and given towards the mission’s trip. My team is getting closer to reaching our goals because of you!!!

I know many of my friends and family may be surprised of late that I’ve “Gone all-out, crazed Religious!” of late. And some of this may be true but here’s the thing:

I’m not religious.

I simply follow this dude named Jesus because, you know what, I don’t know how else to make it.

I’d like to tell you that I’ve moved to Florida, found a church and that every bad deed has gone and that I sit pure, bright and blameless in the sun. Nothing could be further from the truth, my friends.

I graduated from college lost and confused. I stumbled into a multitude of jobs just as lost and confused.

I’m only sharing this new “Bible-quoting Andy” because I’ve realized how messy I am and that, without prayer and thanking God for each day, I become an angry destroyer at the wheel.

Here’s a classic: Psalm 23:4 “Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.”

Let’s be honest my friends, we all could use a comforting night light at some point. That’s what this is about.

Finding peace in Jesus and sharing it with you all – those I care about – because I want the best for you. And I dare say, we want the best for all the world.

This is how adventures start! With excitement!! This is my first blog entry for Destination Philippines Mission's Trip. Please keep checking back for more and always feel free to comment and ask questions.

To be honest, asking people for money has already been the hardest part of this trip. How do you stuff down your pride and begin to ask people for there own savings!?!?! This is something I've really been struggling with.

But after praying and thinking more about it, I decided that this is exactly what friends and family are for. Facebook isn't a popularity page or a bragging page - it should be viewed as friendship. And I care enough about all of my friends to invite them on this trip with me - to ask for their money and perhaps even build a stronger friendship with them. So please, if you're visiting this page. Consider yourself to already be one of my friends. I love you and pray for the best for you.

Thanks be to God that we're alive and in each other's lives.
